Our team leader and I bragged about who would get muddier. I conceded defeat at this point, where he is stirring the water into the dirt with his bare hands.

If this looks like fun to you - it is! Join the Friends of Trees planting crews this weekend as they work in the Montavilla, Rose City Park, Roseway, Cully, and Center neighborhoods. After I am elected, I will work on Friends of Trees plantings every year - and I'll work for the entire session, like I did last Saturday, rather than showing up for the photo op then leaving. While digging holes and planting trees in outer Northeast Portland, I learned a lot about happenings in Lents, Argay, Parkrose, and IKEA's environmental programs, by listening to fellow volunteers.
